Can Meditating Make you Smarter?
Can meditation make you smarter? This is a good question and one that some scientists are looking to answer. Researchers at Harvard, Yale, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology have found the very first evidence showing that meditation indeed alters the physical structure of our brain. In plain English, people who meditate grow bigger brains than those who don’t!
The study showed that the thickening of the brain of older persons happens in a more noticeable manner than in younger people. This is a key element because our gray matter in our brain thins as we age. The study shows that the structure of adult brains is capable of change in response to repeated and consistent meditation.
This means meditation could potentially be a way to stop our brains from aging.
