In these times of so much controversy over ADD and ADHD, the causes, and whether schools are equipped to deal with these conditions appropriate, its great to see that the media is talking about meditation as a possible treatment for these conditions. The video shows information on a school that has the students meditate twice a day and current studies being done to find out the benefits of meditation for college students.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 4 million children are diagnosed with ADHD each year…and studies are showing that meditation has the same beneficial effect that medication has without the side effects.

Since it’s very difficult for children who don’t know what focused attention, i.e. ADHD kids, we used Play Attention (www.playattention.com). It’s a neat program that allows Alex to control their games like Harry Potter. He uses his mind to finish tasks and improve memory. It allows him to practice like meditation by making attention concrete and controllable.
We also used http://www.adhdnanny.com to help us schedule routines and to provide consequences when the routine wasn’t met. It’s definitely for younger kids, but it really helped us manage. It’s a long road, but we’re doing well. It’s good to have someone sort through the clutter to get help.
