Can Meditation Bring you Happiness?

- Meditation for Happiness
While some people think that happiness is that giddy wonderfully high feeling you get when you are excited, I cannot help but disagree.
I believe that true happiness is a constant state of joy. That state is very different from the feelings of excitement and giddiness to which many people refer as happiness.
In plain English, I think that true happiness is having the discernment of knowing what to work against and to counter and what to accept and to not attach to. This is quite a task to undergo but can be achieved by getting to know yourself in deeper levels. The best way to do this is through meditation.
By following short guided meditations on a daily basis, you will no longer be as emotionally reactive to situations and people in your life. In the face of stress, you will take a breath and not be attached to the situation or person.
You will discern whether it is an obstacle in your path that you need to overcome or whether its just something that just is and that you cannot control. (Many of us, myself included have a really hard time with letting go of control!)
I can tell you from personal experience that meditating on a regular basis (even if its just 10 minutes every other day) and using binaural beats can have an extremely positive effect on your outlook on life and your emotions in general. I strongly recommend it.
